Who we are
The Isle of Wight Kidney Patients Association (IWKPA) is a registered charity (No. 298041). Formed in 1983, the association is run entirely on a voluntary basis and is open to all Island renal patients at any stage of treatment.
What we do
The IWKPA represents the interests of and raises issues on behalf of Isle of Wight renal patients. The association provides some financial support both to the local dialysis unit and to services in the community. There are social events and activities running regularly.
How we are funded
We raise money from the local community and make responsible spending donations to the Island's renal services. We also organise patient and family social events, including an annual picnic as well as promoting national renal events.
Aims of the Isle of Wight Kidney Patients' Association
Ensure a patient's experience of dialysis is as comfortable as possible by supporting local hospital and community services
Raise public awareness of the need for organ donation
Increase local public knowledge of kidney disease and treatment
Provide information for patients and carers
